The 24 Hour Worldwide Emergency Medical Service is provided by Specialty Assistance, experts in providing friendly and professional emergency help.  The minimum cover acceptable to Oasis Overland is £500,000 for Medical Emergency and Repatriation and you need to be aware of EXACTLY what activities your policy covers you for.

SUMMARY OF COVER

  • HAZARDOUS ACTIVITIES - the following activities can be undertaken on Oasis trips and are covered as standard under the special travel insurance premiums available from Campbell Irvine: White Water Rafting (up to Grade 5), Scuba Diving (down in 40 meters), Bungy jumping (max 2 jumps). Canoeing, Camel/Elephant & Horse Riding, Parascending/Mircrolighting/Light Aircraft/ Helicopter as a passenger, only,  Dune Boarding, Guider Glacier Walking, Mountain Biking, Abseiling, Winter sports activities such as downhill skiing and snow boarding and Tandem Parachute jumping if accompanied by an instructor.
If there are any activities you are thinking of undertaking but are not sure if you have cover, you must contact your insurers and check.
  • HAZARDOUS ACTIVITIES NOT INCLUDED - If you wish to be covered to undertake certain high risk activities not shown above, please contact Campbell Irvine to establish which activities may require an additional premium to be charged.
  • 20% BAGGAGE & MONEY DISCOUNT - If you already have a household policy this may cover your personal baggage and money while you are on holiday. If you check and find this is the case you may wish to exclude cover for your Personal Effects Baggage and Money from your travel insurance. Please note that some Home Contents Insurance policies may also include cover for photographic and electrical equipment, whilst travelling abroad. Please check with your own insurers for more details.
  • MOTORBIKES AND SCOOTERS - The Campbell Irvine policy covers you to ride any two wheeled motorbike irrespective of its engine size, provided that it is hired or borrowed and not your own vehicle. Please note that with all travel insurance policies, Liability cover needs to be arranged separately at the time of hiring the bike.
  • TRAVEL DELAY - The Travel Delay section of the Campbell Irvine policy covers your return journey as well as the outbound.
  • REPATRIATION - The Campbell Irvine travel Insurance is available to anybody living anywhere in the world, irrespective of their nationality. This cover extends to include worldwide repatriation back to your normal country of residence in the event of a medical emergency - providing the appropriate premium has been paid.
If you are a UK resident (this includes non UK passport holders/nationalities living and working in the UK) and are planning on returning to the UK, the insurers will arrange for you to be repatriated back to the UK if you become seriously ill whilst you were travelling, as this is deemed to be your normal country of residence at the time. Special consideration will be given if you prefer to be repatriated elsewhere as long as the expense is to be the equivalent cost as repatriation to the UK. Alternatively - If you have planned to return home directly after your trip (e.g. Australia, New Zealand, South Africa) - your Insurance would provide repatriation to the UK - your final destination in the event in a medical emergency - but please note that no medical expenses will be payable upon arrival at your final destination. If you are arranging travel insurance elsewhere, please check where you may be repatriated to in the event of a medical emergency.
  • CANCELLATION - Pre Departure Cancellation cover will commence from the date your policy is issued (all other sections of the policy will commence from the start date of the policy). This means that should you have to cancel your trip for an insured reason such as a medical emergency or a bad accident preventing you from travel, you may be able to claim back payment made for pre-paid trips, costs and flights, subject to the standard policy terms and conditions.
  • MATERIAL FACTS / PRE EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITIONS - Please remember that all material facts should be disclosed to your insurers, as failure to do so may affect your rights under your Insurance. In particular you should be aware that in common with most travel insurance policies, the Campbell Irvine policy excludes any defined pre-existing medical condition, not only your own, but also those not necessarily travelling but upon whom travel may depend (e.g. your immediate family). This means if you or any of your immediate family have pre-existing medical problems that may cause you to cancel your trip either before or after departure, you must inform the insurer's pre-departure medical help line on: 0844 892 0954. If the help line is not contacted for whatever reason, then no cover will be in effect for any defined pre-existing medical condition. Please feel free to contact the pre-departure medical screening help line regarding any query - however minor it may seem. They will normally be able to give you an answer direct over the phone.
  • WAR AND TERRORISM - The Campbell Irvine policy extends to include cover for acts of war and terrorism but excludes cover for nuclear, chemical or biological agents.
  • AUTOMATIC EXTENSION OF COVER - In the event that you are prevented from returning home due to reasons beyond your control, then the Campbell Irvine policy will automatically extended for up to 31 days from the date the policy was due to expire free of charge.

IMPORTANT: This is only a summary of cover, full details of the cover provided are shown on your policy document which will be sent to you once the appropriate premium has been paid. Please read it carefully to ensure you understand the cover provided which includes certain terms conditions, exclusions and excesses. In particular cover is excluded for any defined pre-existing medical condition from which you or any person upon whom travel depends are suffering. If in doubt please contact the medical helpline in confidence on 0844 892 0954, as additional cover may be purchased directly from the insurer's medical screening help line for certain pre-exiting medical conditions. Should you wish a specimen, a copy will be made available prior to purchase upon request or alternatively a copy is available for download from the Campbell Irvine Website. The policy contains a 14 day Cooling Off Period and details of how to make a claim and who to contact in the event of a medical emergency.
