Galapagos Flights

We can book return flights from Quito to the Galapagos Islands for you, at a cost of £499 per person. If you would like to take advantage of this service please e-mail southamerica@oasisoverland.co.uk, we are fully ATOL and ABTOT bonded so your booking is safe!

Tipping
Tipping is usually expected. It is often more than a reward for services well done, but, as wages are extremely low, it is an accepted means of supplementing an income. Keep small change on you so as not to incur a large demand when it is seen you can afford more. All prices are negotiable, especially in markets. Many travellers find it a hassle having to bargain for everything they wish to buy, but prices are usually inflated so if you are not happy, move on to another place.

Spending Money

For meals that are not included, drinks, tips and other day-to-day costs, we suggest budgeting around US$20-30 a day.

Photography/Camera Equipment

Galapagos is a photographer’s paradise! The landscapes and of course wildlife present many opportunities for memorable and unique photos that will serve as a wonderful reminder of your time there, and will impress all your friends and family! Underwater cameras are generally not available to buy or rent locally, so we would suggest if you want to record your dives and take other shots of the marine wildlife you bring your own suitable equipment.

Accommodation

We use a range of simple hotels that are clean, comfortable and safe. If you are travelling solo you will be in a single room, friends/couples travelling together will be placed in shared rooms on a twin or double basis.

Just add this on to your trip when booking. Once requested your Add On cannot be refunded or exchanged.

Please be aware that up to 2 months before your departure, the cost of the Galapagos Islands Experience may change, due to currency fluctuations and/or price increases by the national park, local operators or government taxes.
