Then do it! I escaped from the office for a couple of weeks over Christmas and spent half of it trekking this mountain, the second highest in Africa after Kilimanjaro. By all accounts it’s a better trek than Kili for views, wildlife and avoiding crowds. It’s also a bit smaller which appealed to me. Not having garnered the energy or courage to conquer Kili, I can’t make a comparison myself but I can tell you that we had awesome views, close encounters with wildlife and made it to the summit which we shared with just three other walkers.
