We are very excited to announce that we are sponsoring The Bongo Ball!
The Ball is held at annually at St. Andrew’s University, Scotland, this year on 26th Oct.
Check out this really cool little video which tells you all you need to know about the Bongo Ball and its purpose in just over a minute!
The Bongo Ball is a truly unique event on the St Andrews social calendar. Held in a disused cinema on Crail Airfield that used to entertain the RAF’s finest, the soaring ceilings and isolated vibe are truly unique to Bongo. Entertainment from trending DJ’s to an authentic Zambula band encapsulate what is an eclectic fusion of African and Western cultures.
Most Importantly, Bongo is all in aid of the Xavier Project, a charity founded by St Andrews alumni Ed Page, who now runs the charity providing education opportunities to Congolese refugees in Kenya and Uganda. Over half the charity’s funding comes from the Bongo Ball.
We decided to sponsor the Ball because we feel the charity is a really worthwhile cause that carries out its work in countries we travel through. And the Bongo Ball sounds like an awesome event! Where else can grown ups indulge in face painting and dress up in a leopard onesie or a crocodile costume and get away with it?
We were hoping to send one or two Oasis representatives (we thought Jackie could re-use her gorilla suit) but unfortunately tickets have already sold out.
We hope everyone has a ball at the Ball and wish the Xavier Project every success.
