Oasis Overland logistics manager treks to the mountain gorillas

Our logistics manager, Mark, spent his Christmas and New Year in search of Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda (oh and he apparently completed campsite risk assessments and checked over our trucks!)

Trees For Tourism – A Christmas Gift

Our wonderful friends at the The Backpackers hostel that we stay at in Cape Town during our trips have sent us a wonderful gift this year. Instead of sending us a Christmas card as a show of their appreciation, they have donated a tree on our behalf to TREES FOR TOURISM.

Zambian Elections a TRIUMPH!

All of us at Oasis would like to congratulate the recently departed President Banda and the newly elected President Sata. Not only have the Zambians elected a new president (the 5th since independence over 40 years ago) but also the opposition political party.

Having fun in Uganda

We are in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, today after a fairly easy crossing from Kenya yesterday. The border was pretty crazy, with a 6km queue of trucks waiting to clear customs. We asked one driver near the front how long he had been there and he cheerily replied only 3 days!
