Uganda Safari

Experience the best that east Africa has to offer by visiting Uganda as part of one of our exciting African expeditions. Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime and expect to greet gorillas, venture through rainforests and experience the rush of white river rafting - these are just three things you can start looking forward to as part of your Ugandan safari.

Places you'll visit on your Ugandan safari

  • Kampala is the capital city of Uganda, and although it has had an uneasy past it is now a safe and friendly city. From here we travel westwards through swamps, areas of forest and lush green countryside, crossing the equator in the process.

  • Kabale is Uganda's highest town at 2000m and it is from here that we visit either Bwindi or Mgahinga National Parks in the Virunga Range of volcanic mountains. Several families of mountain gorillas live on the rain forest slopes of these mountains. If we don't sight any gorillas in Uganda we'll cross to Rwanda to view them.

  • We visit many smaller villages along the way and pay a visit to Lake Bunyoni, where you can see what's happening at the local school or rent mountain bikes or canoes and enjoy a bit of leisure time.

As we make our way through Uganda we'll come across a variety of distinctly African attractions such as roadside stalls where the locals make and sell traditional musical instruments, as well as a fresh rotisserie with roasted meat, vegetables and roasted bananas.

Visa information for Uganda safaris

All nationalities currently require visas to visit Uganda. We obtain these on the border for most European countries, Britain, Australian and New Zealand, but Americans and Canadians should confirm arrangements before traveling.
