November '08 Trans Africa Expedition
Read Ania & Kelvin's Trans Africa expedition blog. They updated their adventures where and when they could as they travelled from Morocco through West and Central Africa, down to South Africa. From there they made their way up the classic route from Cape Town to Cairo, via Nairobi: Ania & Kelvin's blog
Salkantay Trek & Machu Picchu
Ceris decided to try an alternative to the Inca Trail trek and instead she trekked around (that's around, not up!) Salkantay mountain on her way to Machu Picchu in Peru. With promises of spectacular mountain scenery, few tourists and a horse in case her legs / lungs couldn't handle it she started the 3 day trek in the village of Mollepata.

Daphne's Peru Encompassed trip of '06
Our first adventure was going by local bus to Pisco, home of Pisco Sours - very more-ish indeed. We toured the Paracas Peninsula with guide Lucio, very interesting, and then had a rip-roaring evening over a delicious dinner in our hotel, the Posada Hispana. Next day we went by boat out to the Ballestas Islands with Silvio as guide...
Spanish School - Quito
Spanish School is a great way to pick up the lingo and to meet some fantastic families before embarking on a South America trip. Read Ceris's account of going back to school.
