Kibii from Soft Power is running the London Marathon!

Kibii from Soft Power in Jinja, Uganda

Kibii with his visa!

Some of you will know Kibii who gives the talks to our groups when they visit Soft Power Education in Jinja.  Kibii is running the London Marathon this year to raise funds for Soft Power!

We’ve just heard that he’s got his visa and is due to arrive in England soon, in time for the Marathon on Sunday 17th April.

Soft Power Education works with communities in Uganda to improve quality of life through education.  Those on our overland trips in Uganda have the opportunity to see the projects they are working on and to volunteer some of their skills for a day.  Some of our travellers have returned to Jinja to help them out long term.

All the money raised will be going towards the entire refurbishment of Lubani AS Primary School in Jinja.

After Party and Ugandan Arts & Crafts

You can celebrate with Kibii at the after party on the 17th at The George which is on The Strand in London

Kibii will be bringing a whole load of beautiful Ugandan arts and crafts from the local ladies around Jinja.  Is there something you saw on your Uganda trip that you really wish you had bought?  Has someone commented on how much they like something you bought in Uganda?   Would you like a new Soft Power Education t-shirt? Email Shaz on if there is something special you would like to see for sale on their little Ugandan Crafts table!

All of us at Oasis Overland wish Kibii a safe journey and the best of luck in running the London Marathon!
