Egypt Trips Update, flight replaces ferry

For reasons that are not clear (this is Egypt!) the fast hydrofoil ferry from Hurghada to Sharm el Sheik that we use en route to Dahab, has not been running for the past few months and there is no sign that it will resume in the foreseeable future.

We have always used this ferry on our Egypt tours to avoid a really tedious 12 hour bus journey from Hurghada to Dahab (which most other companies use) and so to continue including a quicker and more comfortable journey, we are now flying from Hurghada to Sharm el Sheik instead.  This means that we have had to increase the cost of each trip by £25, despite absorbing most of the extra cost ourselves.

Chilling out in Dahab

Oasis travellers on previous Egypt trips that have not been able to use the ferry have been more than pleased to pay this small supplement to ‘upgrade’ to the flight and save the long bus journey.  With this feedback in mind and given the ongoing issue with the ferry, we decided to add the supplement to the trip price and include the flight in the standard itinerary.

We rarely increase our trip costs once they are published and only where absolutely necessary.  We feel the extra £25 for the inclusion of the flight represents amazing value and we know of no other tour company that includes it.

The following Regional Explorer tours to Egypt include the flight and the new prices are shown:

Pyramids & Sinai 10 Days:  £420

Egypt Encompassed 14 Days: £515 / £545 (low/high season)

Egypt and Jordan 14 Days: £870

Egypt and Jordan 18 Days: £970 / £1020 (low/high season)

Egypt and Israel 15 Days: £1015

Egypt and Israel 19 Days: £1115

Don’t forget! We are still offering 10% off all Egypt Regional Explorer tours if you book by 10th April.  Except all our May departures which already have £100 off!
