Ian is running the Arusha Half Marathon for the Snake Park Clinic

Oasis Overland tour leader, Ian Grant will be running the 21km Arusha Half Marathon on 9th September, raising funds for the Meserani Snake Park medical clinic.

Anyone who has stayed with us at Snake Park in Arusha, Tanzania will know what a great cause this is.  The medical clinic has approximately 1000 patients per month and this number is growing.  They are in the process of building a larger clinic and the old one will be turned into an orphanage.  The service the clinic provides is free and is currently funded by generous donations from overland tour groups passing through as well as by proceeds from the Maasai Cultural Museum.

Ian has been training hard for this and we are proud to contribute to his fund raising effort by paying the 50US$ entrance fee for the marathon.  You can also sponsor him on our Virgin Money Giving page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/OasisSafariMarathon (donations accepted up to a month after the event).  The Oasis Overland HQ team have started the ball rolling by making some donations and collections are also being taken at Snake Park.

Good luck Ian and as it says on a poster at the Snake Park bar – if you see him on the 9th Sep then he may be in need of a drink!!!
