Flexible Booking on 2022 Adventures

It can be hard to make firm plans at the moment but if you’re like us, you want to get some travel plans in place – we all need something to look forward to!  So we want to give you the most flexible booking conditions we possibly can.

The following apply to any bookings on trips that depart in 2022 except our Trans Expeditions (see a full list of these below).

Deposits

We ask for a deposit payable upon booking. This is non-refundable so we strongly recommend that you obtain travel insurance which includes cancellation cover for Covid-19 reasons (for example, if you test positive within a few weeks of departure and therefore cannot join the trip). This coverage is now relatively widely available.

If you are unable to travel due to a positive Covid-19 test shortly before departure, then if you still wish to join your trip then you can contact us to find out where you would be able to join once your isolation period is completed and you no longer have symptoms. If you prefer, you can transfer your booking to a later departure subject to availability. We are waiving our normal administration fees but standard cancellation / date change fees will apply. Again these should be covered by your travel insurance policy.

Exception: Gorilla trekking permits and other Add Ons – we may have already paid for your permit or other add on, in which case we will do our best to either get this transferred to fit with your new departure date or obtain a refund for you. This is not normally possible however (especially for Gorilla permits), and we will need to follow the rules set by the third party involved.

Balance payments

The balance of your trip payment is now due 60 days before departure. This is subject to cancellation fees as per our booking conditions however it is partially transferrable to an alternative trip, if you can’t travel for reasons related to Covid-19, as above.

You can transfer your booking to a later departure, subject to availability. This can be any trip but it must depart by 31st December 2022. As above, if you wish to join your original trip en route, we can arrange this for you.

Also as above, we may be unable to transfer your Gorilla trekking permit payments or other Add On payments if we have already booked and paid for them. However wherever possible, we will transfer these to fit with your new travel plans.

Travel Insurance - remember that if you have to cancel your trip for unexpected reasons that are not related to Covid-19, then you may be able to make a claim on your travel insurance. For instance, if you or a close relative became ill and you were unable to travel – check your policy carefully to see what it covers.

Some FAQs

What happens if Oasis cancels my trip before departure?
We will give you at least 30 days’ notice if we are unable to run your trip, for example due to low numbers or closed borders.  There may be circumstances that occur within that time which means we have no choice but to cancel the trip, for example lockdown on an international scale.  Whilst we do not anticipate these events and will do all we can to ensure your trip runs, should we have to cancel your trip, you will have the choice of:
  • a full refund of all your trip payments
  • transferring your booking to a later departure (this could be on the same or a different trip - you would need to cover any extra should the new trip be more expensive, while we will refund any difference should the new trip be cheaper)
  • accepting a 'credit on file'. In this situation you do not need to select a new trip or date immediately, but have up to 1 year to make your new booking, and 2 years to start travelling. Cancellation fees will apply if you accept a credit on file and then do not end up travelling.
